Post-Essay Reflection

During these months of the class, it has been a lot of learning for me. Personally, it has been a challenge to learn new things and put them into practice every time I write. The essay was a challenge to improve myself. I had never written an essay as long and with as many details as this one. It was easier to manage because of the different assignments we did in class. Also, It was a bit difficult to find sources to support my topic. Then, connecting my ideas with the sources and making the reader understand the message clearly. The class materials helped me to organize my ideas and also to get a second opinion from others about my work. I’ve learned a lot about writing in the last few months. I  learned to identify much more with the genre and audience. I have learned to identify my type of audience. Now, I can clearly focus and address my audience. I also learned to organize my ideas. It is easier when I have everything organized and so I do not get confused by myself or the reader when reading. Now, I feel much more prepared to continue writing long essays.

For this new essay, I want to be more creative. The genre I want to use is video. I think my audience would understand my message better if I convey it visually. The topic that I am going to do is the same as the last essay, the immigration to the United States. My audience is Hispanic people who want to emigrate to the United States. As a young Latina, I know it would be better if the reality of the United States was visually shown. Latin American people have no idea of the reality of life in the US. Finally, making a video will connect both youth and adults who wish to emigrate to the United States.
